About the role

We are looking for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Litigation team in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Brentwood, Bishops Stortford, Royston or Saffron Walden. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take the next step in their career, specifically working on Contentious Trust and Probate matters.

What this role would include

  • Assisting experienced lawyers with complex cases.
  • With appropriate supervision, providing clients with high-quality and proactive legal advice that meets their needs.
  • Managing files. Drafting contracts, checking titles, and preparing initial reports to clients on initial paperwork and documentation.
  • Applying for and reporting on local searches, index map searches, and any other relevant searches.
  • Undertaking and confirming the exchange of contracts and advising parties 

What we are looking for

  • A qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 5+ years PQE in Litigation/Contentious Trust and Probate.

Direct experience handling contentious trust and probate disputes, such as:

  • Challenges to the validity of wills (e.g., undue influence, lack of capacity, or improper execution).
  • Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
  • Executor or trustee disputes.
  • Disputes over the interpretation or administration of trusts.
  • Applications to remove executors or trustees.
